These terms are the agreement between you and Imani. By creating an account you accept them. Please read them; they explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
1. Who we are
Imani is provided by Astragrid Technologies Ltd, registered in England and Wales, registered office 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE ("Imani", "we", "us"). Contact us at hello@imanidating.com.
2. Who can use Imani
You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter this agreement, and not barred from using the service under any applicable law. You may hold one account, for yourself, using true information. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure.
3. What Imani is
Imani is a service that introduces adults to one another for serious relationships, with verified profiles and introductions chosen with care. We do our best to keep the community real and respectful, but we do not conduct formal background checks, we are not responsible for the conduct of members, and we do not guarantee any outcome, match, or that any member is who they say they are. Use your own judgement, especially before meeting anyone.
4. How you must behave
To keep Imani safe and welcoming, you agree that you will not:
- be dishonest about your identity, age, photos or intentions, or impersonate anyone;
- harass, threaten, abuse, defame or discriminate against another member;
- post or send content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, violent, or that infringes others' rights;
- solicit money, promote goods or services, or use Imani for any commercial or fraudulent purpose;
- use another member's information outside Imani, or share it without consent;
- attempt to bypass safety, verification or moderation, or use bots, scraping or automated access.
We may review, moderate, restrict, suspend or remove content and accounts that break these rules or put members at risk, and we may report unlawful conduct to the authorities.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and information you add. You grant us a limited licence to host, display and process that content so we can run the service (for example, showing your profile to members you are introduced to, and reviewing photos for safety). You are responsible for having the right to share what you upload. New and changed photos are reviewed before others see them.
6. Verification
Some features rely on verification, including a face check that confirms you are a real, live person matching your photo. Verification is optional but earns trust with other members. You agree not to attempt to deceive the verification process. How the face check works and how your selfie is handled is set out in our Privacy Policy.
7. Payments, tokens and subscriptions
- Imani is free to join. Some features are paid: token top-ups (one-off) and optional subscriptions (Imani Plus, Corridor).
- Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are charged to your store account in your local currency. Their terms and billing apply.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You cancel and manage them in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal.
- Tokens buy amplification and access only (such as extra introductions or a boost). They never buy the ability to message an existing match, to see who liked you, or any safety feature.
- Refunds are handled by the app store under its policy. We do not separately control store refunds.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Your data, or as described on our account deletion page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if it is necessary to protect members, or if we stop offering the service. What happens to your data on deletion is explained in the Privacy Policy.
9. Our service, as is
We work hard to keep Imani available and safe, but we provide it "as is". To the extent the law allows, we do not give warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your expectations. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
10. Our liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct of any member, for interactions or meetings between members, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £100. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Imani develops. We will post the updated version here and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Imani after a change means you accept the new terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your home nation. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
